Sintered rings are unique self-lubrication rails for high speed rotating travellers to wind diverse yarn on bobbins for sprinning and twisting. These are made by it's proprietary powder metallurgical technology to guarantee an excellent quality and a highly effcient production of yarn.
Sintered material can be made from a widely variable mixture of metallic powders, which are then compacted under high pressure to get an optimum density and sintered in a sintering furnace. Sintering bonds the metal particles together into a structure of interconnected pores to give the desired porosity and to act as a permanent oil reservoir.
The sintered material can then be machined into any ring shape and heat-treated to the hardness of steel, although it is naturally not as solid due to its pore structure.
The ring then acts as an oil-retaining bearing from which the traveller, as it rotates, draws oil by automatic capillary action. Thus the ring absorbs and release oil just like a sponge, and the traveller uses the oil wherever and whenever it requires it, without wastage or the risk of yarn contamination.
